DESCRIPTION:
WW - Rolex Prince Branchard, ref 971, circa 1938, 23mm x 42mm to lug tips, 20mm lug width, original two-tone 9K gold snap back case with fancy elongated lugs, includes original signed dust cover, black crocodile strap, excellently refinished silver dial with black painted numerals and separated subsidiary seconds, 15J, s# not legible possibly 64939, triple signed. Gross weight of case without movement, strap or dust cover 8.2 dwt (12.9 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, light oxide on steel work, center plate has numerous fine scratches, light brass showing though in several areas; nearly flawless refinished dial shows very light surface spotting; fine hands show light tarnish and oxide; polished case shows ample wear, case back has been repaired on more than one occasion with laser welding scars visible on the inside of the case, numerous light dings most notably on the caseback, dust cover with discolored area from a repair; replacement crown shows very little wear; good plastic crystal.
